Fisherman swims from boat to shore at Victoria Street Bridge

Three firefighters from trail helped a boater who experienced motor troubles near the Victoria Street Bridge Tuesday evening.

They responded just after 5:00 pm.

The lone occupant managed to swim to shore.

Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire Rescue reminds boaters to always wear a life jacket on the waters.

*CORRECTION* We previously reported that this happened at the Columbia River Skywalk, that was an error.
