RDKB calls for delay of Waneta Dam sale

The Regional District of Kootenay Boundary has called on the new BC Government to delay Teck’s sale of their share of the Waneta Dam.

Chair Grace McGregor says the lack of communication before the announcement of the sale to fortis prompted speculation.

Some perceived it as a sign the company might not be committed to a long term future in Trail.

McGregor says teck has since asssured them of their long-term intentions but she adds there should have been prior communications with local government.
