Jumping from height is risky: SAR Instructor

It sounds like common sense but in the wake of two recent deaths on local waterways it’s a very important reminder about the risk involved in jumping from a height.
Local Search and Rescue Manager and Instructor Chris Armstrong says breaking the surface tension on water with anything other than our hands or feet can be like hitting concrete.
…And even having people close by is no guarantee they can spot you underwater.
He says the best bet is to wear a flotation device and stresses that alcohol and drugs do not mix with water activities.
