Monday’s fire at a Rossland subdivision could have been much worse.
Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire Rescue chief Dan Derby says crews battled the house fire for some time after getting the call just before 1 pm.
Nobody was injured and all of the home’s occupants are being supported by Red Cross.
Derby says their quick response stopped the fire from spreading to the nearby forest.
