NDP and Greens to form government

The NDP and Greens will form the next BC government.

Nelson-Creston MLA Michelle Mungall posted a video on Facebook tonight alongside Kootenay West MLA Katrine Conroy, minutes before NDP leader John Horgan emerged to announce that Lt.-Gov. Judith Guichon has asked him to form government.

Earlier this afternoon, the Liberal government fell on a confidence motion.

“We are the Kootenay girls in the the new BC NDP government!” Mungall said in the video. “John Horgan, you did it. You’re premier and it’s going to be a great, great time for all British Columbians. We’re going to work hard for you, we’re going to build a better BC.”

“Everybody in the Kootenays, thank you so much for your support,” Conroy said. “This is amazing.”
