Local MP seeks protection for our waterways

A local politician want’s to make sure our waters are protected.

South Okanagan-West Kootenay MP Richard Cannings says he’s introduced a private member’s bill to that effect.

The previous Conservative government did away with the Navigable Water Act which left a number of lakes and rivers in our region unprotected.

Christina Lake, Summit Lake, Slocan Lake and the Kettle, Granby and Slocan Rivers are all without protection.
