Liberal MLA unlikely to see schools funding work concluded

Boundary-Similkameen MLA Linda Larsen would have liked to continue her government file on schools but knows that likely won’t happen.

The Premier has re-appointed Larsen as Parliamentary Secretary for Rural Education.

However, the Liberal government will likely be brought down by the NDP-Green alliance later this month which would end her role.

She wants to see her work completed.

Larsen has completed extensive consultation with school districts and communities but says she’s not ready to put figures on a rural funding model.

As for next week’s Throne Speech and the likely outcome of a confidence motion Larsen says she hasn’t seen the Premier’s words,”but even if it included the entire NDP platform they (the NDP) would vote against it.”
