The new $3 million dollar RDCK waste transfer station for Nelson and region is ready to open to the public Tuesday.
This morning media were given a preview of the new site off Highway 3A above Pacific Insight.
At the official ribbon-cutting chair John Kettle said the clean, non-smelling facility finally gets garbage collection off Nelson’s waterfront.
The main feature of the spacious site is huge compacting trash bins that reduce trucking needs by as much as 80%.
