Most BC drowning deaths are in the Interior

A number of serious statistics to ponder as we head for summer and all that activity in water.
A BC Coroners report shows from 2008 through 2013 the interior had most drowning deaths.
Also far too many young men in their 20’s were victims …accounting for over a fifth.
And spokesperson Barb McLintock says she was surprised by the amount of impaired drownings.
 She says messages about the risks of drowning aren’t getting through to younger men in particular.
And that demographic is also under-estimating water danger while over-estimating their swimming ability.
