One of Canada’s highest honours for volunteers has been awarded to a Castlegar resident.
Lawrence Redfern was recently presented with the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers.
He’s currently helping out with the Castlegar Wildlife Association.
He’s volunteered as a high school sports coach in a number of communities for 35 years.
