Woman plucked from Columbia River after crash

A crash on Highway 22 yesterday indirectly led to a river rescue.

Two vans collided near Genelle around 2:45 and ended up in a ditch.

Sgt. Darren Oelke with Trail RCMP says the male driver was not injured but the female driver went into the Columbia River.

Cst. Chris Elwood went into the water to help her.

She was taken to hospital.
