Target date for Hall Street Corridor Project phase 1

The first phase of Nelson’s big Hall Street Corridor Project should be done before winter.

Tenders will now go out for the eight weeks of work starting in August on the plaza project at the top block of Hall off Baker Street.

Rob Fershau of designers MMM Group says this will set the tone for what will be a major change on Hall.

The plaza will feature stepped seating with lights and new public furnishings.

Mayor John Dooley says they get to replace ageing infrastructure at the same time.

The cost is about $1.2 million.
