Winlaw names RDCK’s first female fire chief

The RDCK’s first female fire chief hopes other women will follow her lead.

Stephanie Whitney has been named to head up the Winlaw Fire Department.

She says two other women are on her team.

Whitney has been a volunteer firefighter for 12 years and served as assistant chief.

She replaces the retiring Jon Wollenberg.
