Ootischenia Fire Department gets an ambulance

Zellstoff Celgar has donated an ambulance to the Ootischenia Fire Department.

Fire chief George Hamm says it will serve a number of purposes.

The ambulance needs a few fixes before it’s up and running.

They were looking into buying the vehicle but Celgar gave it to them instead.

Mark Goebel, health and safety manager at Zellstoff Celgar, says donating the ambulance was an easy choice.

He says the pulp mill got a new ambulance and they were looking into selling their old one until they talked to Ootischenia’s fire chief.

Goebel says the new vehicle will be ready once it is decalled.
