The City of Trail has passed a bylaw regulating smoking around municipal property.
Councillor Kevin Jolly says this means smoking at parks, recreation facilities and public outdoor events such as Silver City Days is off limits.
The city won’t take a hard stance on enforcement and has no intention of issuing tickets.
The main goal is to ensure non-smokers aren’t subjected to secondhand smoke.
