The Ootischenia Fire Department put out a small fire early this morning.
Fire chief George Hamm says they were called to the 900 block of Waterloo Road around 12:30.
He says the fire started in the furnace room.
He adds the homeowners took action to contain the blaze to the room of origin.
Nobody was hurt and damage is estimated at $5,000.
