FortisBC customers will pay an extra 2.7 per cent come the new year.
Company spokeswoman Amy Bunton says they’ve received approval from the BC Utilities Commission.
The increase works out to another $3.65 per month for the average residential customer.
Bunton says it’s needed to pay for ongoing investments in their electrical infrastructure.
That includes the new operations centre in Ootischenia.
