RDCK Directors debate local purchasing policy

RDCK Directors have again been debating local purchasing policy.

This in the wake of the fall-out from a recent controversial award of an office furniture contract out-of-region.
Currently only items or services worth over $25,000 need to go to tender but at least one Director says that figure needs to be lowered to give local business a chance.
But Hans Cunningham – from Area G – shares the view of many Directors who think money moves around in many ways.
Area I Director Andy Davidoff says he’s taken plenty of calls from his constituents wanting to know just how much of the RDCK’s millions in annual purchasing actually comes back to them.
