Heritage BC has received more than 270 nominations of historic Japanese-Canadian places, including some in our area.
It’s part of a project to recognize sites with significance to British Columbians of Japanese descent.
Wednesday was the deadline for submissions and now a committee will evaluate them.
They include internment sites in the Slocan Valley and a gravemarker in Salmo.
