The president and CEO of the company hosting the Kootenay Country Music Festival says he has wanted to bring the event here for years.
Travis Pangburn of Pangburn Philosophy grew up in the Kootenays.
He says the event will allow residents to experience a country music festival close to home.
It goes July 1 and 2 at the Pass Creek exhibition grounds.
