Could private landlords be part of homelessness solution?

Could part of Nelson’s homelessness solution be private landlords?The Nelson Committee on Homelessness says there isn’t enough affordable accommodation and they will explore the idea of engaging private landlords to help out.

 Brad Crewson with the Streets To Home Program in Victoria says he’s found if landlords can be assured on things like getting the rent on time it’s a model that works.
He says some landlords prefer working with an organisation that helps the homeless than dealing with so-called regular unknown tenants.
