Community support key, Slocan housing society head says

The Slocan Valley Seniors Housing Society is delighted to receive provincial funding for their project.

The $500,000 will go towards building 12 seniors units in Slocan City.

President Rita Moir says it wouldn’t have happened without terrific community support.

Moir says they still have lots of hoops to jump through but they could break ground as early as spring.

The Slocan complex was one of 68 projects announced province-wide Tuesday.

Also included was a 48-unit project by Nelson CARES t0 expand and redevelop a former motel on Nelson Ave.
