Reaction opposing the Federal Government approval for the Enbridge Northern Gateway Pipeline has been widespread.
Nelson-Creston Green Rep Sjeng Derkx says this is no surprise politically – coming from the Federal Conservatives.
The Feds have said yes to the pipeline that would carry diluted bitumen from Alberta to Kitimat on BC’s coast – subject to over 200 conditions including talks with first nations.
Derkx says putting the oil in tankers on our waters would be, “one the dumbest moves the province coud make.”
The Greens – like others- are calling on Premier Clark to say no.
