The City of Castlegar will be taking steps to make sure those keeping backyard chickens don’t ruffle too many people’s feathers.
This as the city has approved a pilot project to allow certain homes to keep up to five hens starting in March.
Councilor Deb McIntosh says a steering committee will be making sure protocols are followed.
The city will hold a public meeting before March to better inform residents about the project.
