Government not bargaining in good faith: Union rep

As teachers start full scale strike action Tuesday, a local Union Rep can’t believe it’s taken this long to get nowhere in bargaining.
Speaking following the lack of progress in contract talks over the weekend,
Paul Boscariol with the Nelson and District Teachers Association is accusing the government of not bargaining in good faith from the word go.
BC Teachers have reduced their wage increase demands to 8% plus a $5000 signing bonus.
The government is offering 7% and says the total teacher package request comes in at 12.5% and is twice what other public sector unions have settled for.
