Trail to host military exercise event this summer

The Greater Trail area will host about 500 soldiers this summer for “Kootenay Cougar.” 

It’s a Department of National Defence military exercise that will take place in August. 

Silver City Councillor Kevin Jolly says they are happy to have them and the group is happy to be coming here.



The military had an exercise in the area in 2012 at the Hugh Keenleyside dam.

That focused on building a bridge platform, while this year’s event is said to be more of a skills competition.
