A West Kootenay raised hockey player says his time here helped shape his career.
Barret Jackman recently called it a career after spending 13 seasons in the NHL.
Jackman spent most of his time with the St. Louis Blues and signed a contract with them last week to officially retire with the team.
He finished his career with 876 games played and a +/- rating of 54.
