Trail Smoke Eaters to be sold for $600,000

Rumors regarding the BCHL’s Trail Smoke Eaters leaving their home were put to rest last night.

President Tom Gawyrletz spoke to a crowd of over 100 people about the imminent sale of the hockey team.

He says the new owner is Rich Murphy from Minnesota who has had success in the rail car business.

Murphy will buy the team for $600,000 and will get a 90% share of the team while the society which currently owns the team will keep a 10% share.

Head coach Cam Keith looks forward to working with him.

The deal is in the process of being finalized.

Murphy was not able to attend last night’s meeting.
