Castlegar’s newest residents have arrived.
A refugee family from Burma touched down at the West Kootenay Regional Airport Tuesday.
Julie Leffelaar with the Castlegar Refugee Project says they had quite a long trip.
Leffelaar says the family will be shown the town in the coming days.
She adds they’ve received a very warm welcome so far.
The group expects a second refugee family from Syria in the coming months.
