More bears have been spotted recently in Castlegar.
Wildsafe BC’s Jenny Wallace says they’ve been going after fruit trees
She says the fact they’re not going after garbage as much could be an indication that new bear-resistant garbage containers in the area are working.
She adds it’s a good idea to pick your fruit to reduce the risk of bear conflicts.
