Rebels open season with 2 losses, Nitehawks unbeaten

The first weekend of KIJHL regular season play is in the books.

Yesterday in Spokane the Braves beat the Grand Forks Border Bruins 8-6 to give the bears an 0-1-1-0 start to the year.

The Beaver Valley Nitehawks tied the Bruins 1-1 in Grand Forks Saturday and won their opener Friday.

The Nelson Leafs are off to a 1-1-0-0 start after a 6-2 win in Spokane Saturday after falling in their opener Friday.

And the Castlegar Rebels are 0-2-0-0 after a loss Friday in Golden versus the Rockets and falling to the Dynamiters in Kimberley 4-3 on Saturday.
