The pride flag is flying at Rossland City Hall to celebrate Kootenay Pride Week.
Mayor Kathy Moore says it speaks to the city’s progressiveness.
She says about 30 people attended the flag-raising ceremony.
The idea came from the Rossland Youth Action Network.
They also requested a rainbow-coloured crosswalk be installed.
Council unanimously agreed to both requests.
The pride crosswalk will come in October when upgrades to Washington Street are finished.
