RCMP figure the murder of a Rossland man last week was a break and enter that ended in a tragic way.
Life-long resident ,75 year Thomas Feeney died in his home last week.
They suspect this is a random incident or a crime of opportunity.
RCMP say the exact cause of death will be determined by the coroner after an autopsy.

In the meantime they’re asking the public to be on the look-out for several items missing from the Feeney Road house.
These include a 40-inch LCD TV and five firearms including a unique antique rifle that is 140 years old.
Thomas Feeney’s son-in-law Colin Lohrer made a statement on behalf of the shocked and devastated family appealing to the public to come forward with any tips.
