Barring any extreme rainfall events it looks like this year’s spring freshet will go by with barely a whimper.
Regional Emergency Coordinator in the RDKB Dan Derby says the latest provincial snow pack report shows mid-elevation accumulations are gone.
There is above normal snow at upper elevations but Derby says there’s no mention of any risk to our river systems.
Bc Hydro reported last month that they expected run-off throughout the 4-month freshet period to be 109% of normal, which is well below the 149% seen in 2012.
