Trail looking into skywalk approaches

The City Of Trail will have the approaches to the Columbia River Skywalk ready when the bridge opens in November.

But Councillor Robert Cacchioni says they might not resemble the vision for the finished product.

The city learned that costs for both sides could cost up to $1.1 million.

Council has asked the engineering department to come back with plans to reduce the costs.

Detailed landscaping plans and other amenities caused the estimated price to jump well over budget.

He adds the city won’t support having temporary gravel approaches.
