New doctors found for Nakusp, Trail

New family physicians are coming to Trail and Nakusp in the next few weeks.

The doctors from overseas have committed to working in the local communities for three years.

Dr. Curtis Bell with Interior Health says they’re part of the latest cohort in a program to recruit rural physicians.

In Trail the new doctor takes over a private practice but will also support the emergency department at the regional hospital.

The new doctor in Nakusp will be based at Arrow Lakes Hospital and provide both acute and residential care.
