Shambhala kept RCMP busy on roads

The West Kootenay Traffic And Integrated Road Safety Unit had a challenging few days surrounding Shambhala Music Festival.

Cpl. Chad Badry says ninety-four excessive speeding tickets were handed out.

In one instance a driver was going 188km/h in a 100km/h zone!

Police also took more than fifteen impaired drivers off the roads.

Egihty-four new drug investigation files have been opened.

Thankfully there were no serious crashes or fatalities in our region.

There was a fatality near Cranbrook involving a driver heading to a music festival in the West Kootenay.
