Shambhala Music Festival organizers are looking to crowd-funding to help pay for a device to test drugs for fentanyl.
The miniature mobile mass spectrometer costs up to $250, 000.
ANKORSÂ offers harm reduction services at Shambhala.
The organization’s Chloe Sage says current testing they do doesn’t include the drug and no funding is available to upgrade.
Sage says typically those who go to Shambhala aren’t opioid users, but many street drugs are tainted with fentanyl.
