May unemployment is up from last year

Kootenay job numbers have been released from May and they continue to show similar trends from the last several months.
That is, unemployment is up from the same time last year – along with a significant decrease in the regional labour force.
May’s unemployment was 7.7%, compared to 6.2% in May of 2013.
9900 workers left the labour force over that 12 month period as well.
