The Kootenay Lake school board is pushing ahead with several closures after some last-minute debate.
Trustee Bob Wright wanted to include a provision addressing Slocan Valley schools.
His amendment was voted down 5-4 but Wright thinks those issues will still have to be addressed.
Winlaw and Jewett schools will remain open while Salmo elementary and Trafalgar are headed for closure.
