A big step in the construction of a new Fortis BC operations centre near Castlegar.
Corporate Communications Advisor Nicole Bogdanovic says a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday will officially mark the beginning of the project.
Fortis preferred the Castlegar area for the site due to it’s central location.
The facility will be approximately 30,000 square feet.
Approximately 100 transmission and distribution employees will operate from the new building.
It’s expected to open in October 2017.
