New Nelson transfer station opens in July

A new era for waste in our area.
The new transfer station just outside Nelson opens July 8th.
It replaces the one that has  been on Lakeside Drive for many years.
The RDCK’s Mike Morrison says the project met cost and time expectations.
The project at Grohman on Insight Drive has been in the works for three years.
Morrison says the site will offer a better and safer user experience while modern equipment will allow them to reduce operating costs and greenhouse gas emissions.
