The City Of Castlegar has been approved for grant funding to help improve their cycling infrastructure.
Councilor Florio Vassilakakis is pleased the city will be getting nearly $80,000 in funding from Bike BC to build a multi-use pathway connecting Connors Road with the Kinnaird Bridge.
The grant money will cover about half of the costs for the new pathway.
Vassilakakis says the funding injection represents the city’s move towards becoming a popular area for bikers.
The city is hoping to add a seperated bike lane to Columbia Avenue as well.
