New signage in Nelson targets impaired drivers

You may have noticed some new signage in Nelson the past few days.

This as the Nelson Police Department and RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance to help locate impaired drivers.

The sign’s are part of the efforts by Mothers Against Drunk Driving and read “report impaired drivers”.

Here’s NPD Chief Paul Burkart.

Burkart says impaired driving cases have been in decline since stiffer laws were introduced in 2010.

But he adds impaired driving causes about 90-100 deaths annually in BC.
