Missed housing opportunity: Nelson pastor

A Nelson pastor says the city of Nelson has missed an opportunity to get 42 new affordable rental units off the ground.

Jim Reimer with Kootenay Christian Fellowship is reacting to a decision of council not to offer his proposal up to $700,000 in incentives. That’s because they want to appear neutral as BC Housing will assess this proposal as well as one from Nelson Cares Society. The latter proposal did not ask for incentives.

Reimer had asked the city to endorse one of the two projects to make a stronger case for BC Housing and CBT funding.
