Two wildfires spark in Boundary

Two highly-visible wildfires in the Boundary are keeping local crews and personnel from the South East Fire Centre very busy.

They both started along Highway 3 east of Grand Forks early Tuesday afternoon in the Gilpin Grassland area and near Christina Lake.

Neither are threatening properties or communities.

But as spokeswoman Karlie Shaughnessy explains they’re throwing a lot at the 20 hectare Gilpin blaze.
