Rebuild of Yasodhara Ashram temple to start in July

There’s progress in the reconstruction of an iconic landmark on the East Shore of Kootenay Lake.

The rebuild of the temple at the Yasodhara Ashram is expected to get underway next month.

A fire destroyed the original temple two years ago.

Spiritual Leader Swami Lalitananda says they are working with companies from Crawford Bay, Nelson and Creston.

The $2.5 million building is designed as a collection of windows and panels that come together to create a luminous inner space.

Lalitananda says they will fund it through donation, grants and financing.
