RDCK seeks full sign up for emergency system

The RDCK Regional Fire Chief wants to spread the word about sign-up to their new emergency notification system.

Andrew Bellerby says the new text-based system went live Saturday when over 300 people registered.

But the aim is to get everyone connected…and there are 60,000 people in the RDCK.

In the event of a major event like an evacuation from wildfire Bellerby can send out a text or landline message.

It gives details of the area affected, exit routes and reception centres.
