Hot spring means more daily records likely

The warm- even hot – spring weather keeps pushing the boundaries with Environment Canada predicting some possible daily records in our region.

We could see temperatures in excess of 28 C Tuesday and Wednesday.

As an example the hottest April 19th on record in Nelson – which is Tuesday-  is 23.3 C so that record looks like it will be broken. Also it was 26.8 C on April 20th during the hot spring of 2010.

Some further examples – Trail’s 25.6 C set on April 19th 1934 could be broken Tuesday and Castlegar’s record of 27.2 C set April 20th 1918 may be on the line.

Creston’s hottest April 20th is 26.7 C , so on Wednesday that record may well be broken as well.
