Bodies recovered from Slocan Lake

The recovery operation for the three youth who drowned in Slocan Lake has been completed.

One-by-one the bodies of 15 year old Jule Wiltshire-Padfield, 18 year old Skye Donnet and 21 year old Hayden Kyle were brought to the surface.

The specialist underwater recovery company spotted them around 500-feet down on the lake bottom Monday.

On Wednesday they used a remote vehicle and clamp on the end of a tether for the recovery.

RCMP Sgt Darryl Little says this does bring some closure.

19 year old Lily Harmer-Taylor also died when the canoe the four were in capsized in the frigid lake May 10th. None of them were wearing life jackets.

The investigation is now in the hands of the coroner.
